Ministry of Tourism extends the validity of project approval and classification of Hotels and other accommodation units till April 30, 2021 | |||||
Acceding to the HRANI's request, Licences for hotel project approval and classification or reclassification of all hotels in India have been extended by four months by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Validity of the licenses has been extended from January 1, 2021 till April 30, 2021. Hotel and Restaurant Association of Northern India (HRANI) in its letter to the Tourism Secretary, Sh. Yogendra Tripathi had sought further extension of all pending licenses considering the 'catastrophic situation' in the industry. The Association had also requested MoT to support the industry in mitigating the operational issues being faced by the stakeholders of the industry in the 'challenging times' of global pandemic. HRANI is thankful to Sh. Yogendra Tripathi, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India and the team of the Ministry for easing the hospitality industry during this crucial time. HRANI to hold FoSTaC Session for Food Handlers | |||||
FSSAI has introduced an online course of Food Safety Training and Certification (FoSTaC) comprising content, online assessment and compulsory training on COVID-19 precautions. To be eligible to conduct FOSTAC programme through e-platform, FSSAI has formulated separate SOP's for Training Partners. Continuing the efforts of spreading awareness amongst FBO's and Members, the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Northern India is organizing its next Virtual Training Session for Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) on Saturday, January 30, 2021. It will be a one day training session comprising different sections of activities and quiz rounds. The participants will be given a specific break. The programme will be organised on a digital platform & each participant will have to qualify the online assessment. The certificates will be issued by FSSAI. As per FSSAI guidelines, to be eligible for certification the participant has to complete & qualify all rounds of quiz and assessment. In case of missing any round, the participant will have to attend the next training session for certification, informed Renu Thapliyal, Secretary General HRANI. | |||||

HRANI takes up industry concerns with Govt of Uttar Pradesh | |||||
Hotel and Restaurant Association of Northern India (HRANI) has been taking up industry concerns with various departments of the Central and State government through representations for relief in the period of crisis. To mitigate the adverse impact of COVID 19, the Association has again sent a representation to Govt of Uttar Pradesh to help & support the industry by extending relief. The representations have been sent to the Hon'ble Chief Minister, Hon'ble Minister of Excise and Chief Secretary on the following key concerns.

Ministry of Tourism revises Marketing Development Assistance for service providers | |||||
The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India has revised the Marketing Development Assistance (MDA) scheme under the Overseas Promotion and Publicity (OPP) for Tourism Service Providers (TSPs). Under the MDA, the Ministry provides financial assistance for TSPs to motivate them to promote tourism to the country from the overseas markets. As per the modified MDA announced by the Ministry of Tourism, approved Tourism Service Providers like Tour Operators, Travel Agents, Transport operators, hotels, convention centres, B&B units, Standalone restaurants, etc. who meet the eligibility criteria set by the Ministry, will be eligible for an enhanced financial assistance of INR 3.5 lakh per tour (with a maximum of three tours per year), instead of the previous financial assistance of INR 2.5 lakh, to participate in overseas road shows, trade events, etc. with the prior approval of the department. This entails 90% of the air ticket by economy class on the shortest route; 90% of the cost for setting up stalls; and lodging expenses of INR 10,000 per night for a maximum of five nights.
